Training on Scientific Analysis of Alcoholic Liquor was organised during 2-6 December, 2013 at Forensic Science Laboratory, Secretariat Complex, Aizawl. The training was attended by 25 officers of Excise & Narcotics Department.

 

                The Training was inaugurated by Mr. Zorammawia, IPS, Inspector General of Police. He encourage all the trainee to earn more knowledge from the Training and become useful to the Government. Mr. Lalhmunsanga, Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics was the Guest of Honour in the inauguration function. The expressed his gratitude to the FSL staff and to the trainee for their attendant.

 

                The main aim of the training was to impert technical expertise on the analysis of liquor to the officers of Excise & Narcotics Department, as the Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition(Amendment) Act have appointed them as 'Expert'. The faculty from Forensic Science Laboratory have given them an elaborate training in theory and practical on analysis of liquor. All the trainee faced examination on the subject and all of them have passed the examination. All the trainee were given completion Certificate in a short function.

 

                Training Course comprises of the following subject in Theory and Practical :-


                1) Alcohols and their classifications, preparations, properties & Uses
                2) Liquor under MLTP Act, Legal & Forensic perspectives
                3) Methyl Alcohol Poisoning and Signs & Symptoms of Alcoholism
                4) Methods of Sampling for Alcoholic Liquors
                5) Uncertainty Measurement
